Board Meeting Minutes
April 18, 2016
Those in attendance: John B., Peggy N., Kaj A., Bill F., George B., and Marc A. Harry B. was the only guest.
President John Brewer called the meeting to order at 7:30am.
It was decided that no meetings would be canceled following a Monday holiday.
Discussion arose about the lack of signage downtown, on the waterfront and on the Trail. Bill Feeley will check on the old railroad signal at the watefront and its possible use. George will check on the lack of puppy poop bags downtown, on the waterfront and on the Trail.
John, Kaj and Marc, and probably Edna will attend the meeting on the Marine Lab extension and parking problems.
John, Kaj and Marc will attend meetings on the Comprehensive Plan. (Check the PABA website for meeting times and places.)
John discussed issue of PABA’s 501c3 tax status. Past confusion and action has led the Association to needing to send a one time $400.00 check to the IRS. Kaj moved and George seconded, recommending to the membership that the bill be paid. Motion carried.
The Boys & Girls Club of Port Angeles is seeking support for their development plan for a new and larger clubhouse. A representative from the Club will be invited to speak to PABA and present more information.
John read a letter from the Future Business Leaders of America requesting $200.00 to help send a high school freshman to their State Conference in Spokane. Bill moved and George seconded that the Board recommend that expenditure to the membership. Motion carried.
A request from the County Legislative Theatre Youth Project was not considered.
Several events were brought up: The European / German Car Show this weekend on the Pier, the NOTA free tree giveaway on Saturday the 23rd at the Green Crow office, the Waterfront Open House on Sunday the 24th, the upcoming Clallam Conservation District Native plant sale at Lazy J and the Countywide free flower seed program.
George moved and Bill seconded the adjournment of the Board Meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 8:28am.
