Some of its emphasis is on developing competent and aggressive business leadership, create more interest in and understanding of American Business Enterprise, develop character, prepare for useful citizenship and foster patriotism, promote school loyalty and facilitate the transition from school to work.

The Winter State Conference saw half of the membership qualify for future events. Students also shadow officers to learn skills. They also learn to work in concessions, use cash register, do inventory and how to dress professionally. The two students encourage people to help with mini conferences, meetings and to act as judges and speakers. FLBA can be found in middle schools, high schools, and colleges.

The theme for 2018 is “Elevate Your Future”. Students can use financial help in attending conferences.
