Dear Senator Hargrove:
By unanimous declaration of members at this week’s meeting, the Port Angeles Business Association loudly applauds and honors your accomplishments as you retire from the state Legislature.
PABA not only congratulates you and wishes you well in the next chapter of your life‛s journey, but expresses its members’ appreciation of your many, many contributions in the state House and state Senate, from the trailblazing Becca legislation and crime-prevention initiatives to your efforts supporting the timber industry (especially the .09 Grant Fund for qualifying public facilities improvements).
You’ve made a difference in peoples’ lives as a consistently strong voice about providing better and more capable social services to the disabled and families struggling with poverty and been a champion of constructive diversion programs that have kept at-risk youth, the drug-addicted and the mentally ill out of jails.
We hope you stay engaged and continue to be a leader. Your insights and guidance have sincerely been appreciated and needed by our community.
Thank you again for making us better than we were . . . better than we would have been without you.
On behalf of the Port Angeles Business Association,
